My research career in bone pathologies began during my PhD, where I characterized a novel mouse model of achondroplasia (ACH), which is now widely used for preclinical studies of the disease. I then pursued postdoctoral training in Dr Joly's laboratory (CNRS, France), where I acquired expertise in zebrafish models. In 2015, I joined Dr Legeai-Mallet's team (INSERM U1163, France) as a postdoctoral fellow. During this period, I contributed to several preclinical studies on achondroplasia, including studies of infigratinib, which subsequently entered clinical development. In parallel, I developed my expertise in craniofacial skeletal biology and established and developed zebrafish technologies within the laboratory. Since 2021, I have held a permanent position at INSERM and was awarded an ANR JCJC grant, supporting the development of my independent research program. Since 2025, I have joined the “Genetics of Developmental Disorders” team led by Dr Jeanne Amiel, where I now work as a PI leading the research group Bone diseases related to FGF signaling deregulation. My research combines zebrafish and mammalian models to understand how deregulated FGF signaling contributes to skeletal diseases, particularly craniosynostosis, and to translate these mechanistic insights into innovative therapeutic strategies. In 2025, the group's work on craniosynostoses was recognized by an FRM Team grant (Équipe FRM).
I also co-coordinate an institute-wide project aimed at establishing advanced genome-editing technologies in zebrafish, including base editing and prime editing. This project aims to establish innovative tools within the institute to validate newly identified disease-associated variants and investigate their functional and pathogenic consequences in vivo, thereby improving our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying skeletal diseases.
