Pass on all or part of your estate to research for the benefit of sick children

Passing on all or part of one's estate is much more than a material matter. It is a thoughtful decision and a symbolic and emotional one, in favor of a cause that is dear to us. As a Foundation for Scientific Cooperation (FCS), the Institut Imagine is exempt from all transfer taxes, regardless of the amount or type of donation, bequest or life insurance.

Passing on all or part of one's estate is much more than a material matter. It is a thoughtful decision and a symbolic and emotional one, in favor of a cause that is dear to us.

As a Foundation for Scientific Cooperation (FCS), the Imagine Institute, whose mission is to understand and cure genetic diseases, and therefore to help the millions of children affected by the disease, is entitled to receive donations and legacies.

Normally for associations, inheritance tax is set at 60% on the total amount of the donation or bequest. For associations recognized as being in the public interest, they are simply subject to the same inheritance taxes as those levied on brothers and sisters, i.e. 35% up to €24,430 and 45% above €24,430. The status of Fondation de Coopération Scientifique of the Imagine Institute allows us to benefit from an even greater advantage. Indeed, as such, Imagine is exempt from all transfer taxes, whatever the amount or type of the donation, bequest or life insurance. The sum or goods that you pass on to us are entirely passed on to Imagine to finance research on genetic diseases. The entirety of what you might pass on will therefore directly benefit sick children and the search for new treatments.

Making a bequest means deciding what will happen to your property after your death. A bequest is a thoughtful and powerful gesture that is decided during the donor's lifetime, but will only take effect after his death. In this sense, a notarized deed is strongly recommended when the property has a certain value (securities portfolio, bank account, work of art, business...). Indeed, it will make it possible to specify and fix the intentions (charges, reservations and conditions) desired by the donor.
